The Core Cutting Knives, size 70x40x1mm, are made with 2 bevels in K720 steel. Upon request, it is also possible to produce them in other types of steel: high-speed steel (HSS) or with a higher chromium content of 12% (K100). According to customer requirements, by providing a technical drawing with dimensions or a sample, customized products can be manufactured.

These types of knives are available with different bevel lengths, ranging from 10 mm to 25 mm. However, the choice depends on the thickness of the material to be cut. In addition, the bevel length allows the blade to penetrate the material more easily.

The cutting angle can be sharpened from 20° to 30°.

The Core Cutting Knives, size 70x40x1mm, are mounted on converting machines suitable for cutting various materials, including plastic films and flexible laminates, non-woven fabrics, rubber, and sponge. They are particularly suitable, however, for cutting cardboard cores and tubes.
They allow high-speed cutting, reducing the amount of dust produced and ensuring excellent cutting quality.
Core Cutting Knives are also referred to as upper knives because they are mounted on the upper part of the shaft. Depending on the type of machine in use, they can cut “on the fly” or with counter blades.

These Core Cutting Knives can be ground or subjected to a hardening treatment; it is a heat treatment in which the steel is heated to a certain temperature for a period of time and then rapidly cooled, in order to increase the hardness throughout the piece, not only on the surface.
Core Cutting Knives can be resharpened several times, with the possibility of restoring the bevel as well, indicating the minimum diameter below which they are no longer usable. After resharpening, the blade returns to optimal working conditions and, within the framework of a circular economy approach, this process contributes to environmental sustainability.
