Flat knives are mounted on both pneumatic and normal blade holders and are used for a scissor cut.
The table contains only some of the sizes most commonly used on the market and available in stock.
However, we are able to build other types of circular blades according to your drawings or samples.
The Flat Knives, sizes 70x36x0.5mm, 90x60x1.2mm, 130x80x2.3mm, 150x80x1.8mm, 150x80x2.3mm, 150x80x2.5mm, 160x120x5mm, 180x70x4mm, 180x80x4mm, 200x65x2.2mm, are produced in various types of steel: low Chromium content at 1.5% (K720 and 100Cr6) and high Chromium content at 12% (K100). Upon request, they can also be made in HSS and ASP steel, materials that provide the product with better performance and longer durability.
The thickness and the bevel profile change depending on the material to be cut. There are different types of beveling: single, double, or with front relief.
The sharpening angle is 25° or 30°.
These knives are often available ready-stocked in sizes ranging from an outer diameter of 90mm to 200mm. Custom items can be produced upon precise customer specifications by providing a detailed technical drawing and/or a sample. Furthermore, the Flat Knives are made with locking holes, slots, or keys.
Flat Knives are usually mounted on pneumatic supports, particularly on cutters and rewinding machines, but also on converting machines for cutting numerous materials such as laminates, aluminum, paper, flexible packaging, cardboard, films, and non-woven fabric.
A mirror polishing treatment can be performed on the Flat Knives, an operation that greatly reduces roughness and allows less residual material buildup on the cutting edge. This is especially suitable for those cutting adhesive materials, laminates, and non-woven fabrics, as it produces less dust—a common problem during cutting.
Unlike conical knives, which are used on machines with medium/low speeds, Flat Knives can be used on high-speed machines.
Flat Knives cut against counter blades or multiple counter knives with different types of locking such as pack, ball, and set screw types.
Counter blades and multiple counter knives are also produced by us, available in standard or custom formats based on customer needs.
Flat Knives can be resharpened multiple times; sometimes it is necessary to restore the bevel, a process that restores the knife’s cutting characteristics close to those of a new one.
