Self locking knife holders in Fe52 steel, sizes 50/40x25x10mm, 58/50x35x10mm, 85/75x60x6mm, 85/75x60x10mm.

The self locking knife holders are made of Fe52 steel and undergo a blackening treatment, which prevents rust formation and slows down wear. Sizes: 50/40x25x10mm, 58/50x35x10mm, 85/75x60x6mm, 85/75x60x10mm. The distinctive feature of the self-locking system, also known as automatic locking, is that if the locking on the shaft is accidentally not engaged, the machine will automatically lock upon startup. It is also essential to remember that unlocking must be carried out in the opposite direction.

Our self locking knife holders are always equipped with springs and retaining rings (seegers).

The length and wire dimensions of the spring determine the force exerted on the knife during the cutting phase. Additionally, the self locking knife holders are used as supports for our conical knives, available in various standard sizes. However, they can also be custom-made upon request.
The knife holders in sizes 50/40x25x10mm, 58/50x35x10mm, 85/75x60x6mm, made of Fe52 steel with ball locking, together with conical knives, represent the upper part of the so-called “scissor-type” cutting unit. These oppose the lower blades, which are the counter-knives. This cutting method is used on rewinding machines, slitters, and slitting systems. It is also applied on inspection tables and is particularly suitable for cutting a wide range of materials, such as paper and cardboard, aluminum, flexible and adhesive laminates, as well as labels, nonwoven fabrics, and plastic and metallic films.

Maintenance of the knife holders is very important: first of all, it is necessary to check that the locking mechanism functions properly. Additionally, the slot where the knife is inserted must not be worn out; otherwise, the knife will not be properly fixed and will produce an imperfect and non-linear cut. Similarly, the springs must be checked periodically to ensure the correct pressure of the conical knives during cutting.
The following spare parts are always available: springs and retaining rings (seegers), as well as a full overhaul service that includes replacement of the locking balls and eccentric ring. All components of the cutting unit are produced: knife holders, conical knives, and counter-knives.
