Multi Bottom Knives can be produced in different types of steel, such as low chromium content at 1.5% (100Cr6 and 100CrMo7) and high chromium content at 12% (K100). Sizes available are 105×60/80/90×39/49/50mm, 130×100/110×50/100mm, 150×120/130×50/100mm, and 180x150x50/100mm. Depending on the customer’s needs, by providing a detailed technical drawing or a sample, custom products can be manufactured.
Multi Bottom Knives can have single or double edges with different types of locking systems: pack locking and set screw locking. Unlike the set screw locking, which is mounted on non-expandable shafts, the pack locking is applied on expandable shafts.
These knives are called “multi” because they perform the same function as many single counterblades placed side by side; this allows for series cuts without margin of error while maintaining a standard pitch of 5 or 10mm. At the same time, the unit price is more advantageous compared to the total cost of purchasing individual counterblades.
The standard sharpening angle is 3°, but upon specific request, we can vary the sharpening angle.
Multi Bottom Knives in sizes 105×60/80/90×39/49/50mm, 130×100/110×50/100mm, 150×120/130×50/100mm, and 180x150x50/100mm are mounted on rewinding machines, cutters, and slitters. These machines are suitable for cutting numerous materials such as paper and cardboard, non-woven fabric, flexible laminates, labels, plastic films, tapes and adhesive materials, and also tissue/fabric.
Multi Bottom Knives are typically mounted on the lower shaft of the machines, strategically positioned to work during the cutting phase with the upper part of the machine consisting of conical knives, flat knives, mechanical knife holders, or pneumatic knife holders. These products are also manufactured by us.
Depending on the size and geometry of the Multi Bottom Knives, induction hardening or through hardening treatments can be applied: both improve material characteristics such as hardness and wear resistance. The difference between the two treatments is that induction hardening does not alter the internal structure of the piece, while through hardening modifies it.
Multi Bottom Knives can be resharpened, thereby improving cutting performance and quality. This procedure regenerates the edge, extending the tool’s lifespan. Resharpening represents a sustainable option, as it allows reuse of the existing knife, reducing the environmental impact associated with producing new products.
