Dished Knives undoubtedly represent a prominent part of our production, resulting from constant quality over time and great availability of the ready product (or in any case with reduced delivery times).
Dished Knives are used on all cutters that perform a scissor cut and are mounted on both pneumatic and normal blade holders.

Hollow Bevel Dished Knives are produced in 100Cr6 steel, 12% Cr, and K100, but upon specific customer requests, they can also be made in HSS and ASP steel. Sizes: 62x40x1.2mm, 65x45x1.2mm, 72x50x1.2mm, 75x50x1.2mm, 90x60x1.2mm, 105x75x0.8mm, 105x75x1.2mm, 105x65x1.2mm, 105x60x1.2mm, 105x75x0.6mm, 130x100x1.5mm, 130x100x1.5mm (30°), 150x80x2.5mm, 150x120x1.2mm.

Conical knives are made with different bevel types: simple bevel, double bevel, and finally hollow bevel (dished bevel). The latter differs from the other two bevel types because the bevel itself has a “concave” curvature, which facilitates cutting materials such as aluminum and thin laminates without risking damage. Since these are very thin and delicate materials, the hollow bevel allows for greater cutting accuracy and thus guarantees optimal control during the operation.

These conical knives are often available ready to ship in sizes ranging from an outer diameter of 62mm to 180mm. Upon specific customer request, and by providing a detailed drawing or a sample, it is also possible to produce custom products.

The cutting edge sharpening angle is 25° or 30°.

Hollow bevel dished knives are mounted on mechanical supports, pneumatic supports, and cutting systems. They are mainly used on cutters and rewinding machines, but also on control tables for cutting numerous materials including paper, cardboard, aluminum, flexible laminates and adhesives, labels, films, and finally also on non-woven fabric (NWF).

For hollow bevel dished knives, it is possible to perform a mirror polishing treatment, a process that results in less adhesive residue and significantly reduces surface roughness. In addition to polishing, hollow bevel dished knives can be ground; this phase involves several passes to remove excess material and restore the original shape.

Conical knives are typically used on machines operating at medium/low speeds, unlike flat knives which are mounted on high-speed machines.

Conical knives, together with blade holders with grub screw, pack, or ball locking, form the upper part of the cutting group called “scissor type”; this works in opposition to the lower blades made up of counter blades. The blade holders and counter blades produced with various locking types are also manufactured by us.

For hollow bevel dished knives, a re-sharpening service is available, an operation that allows the cutting edge to be sharpened multiple times and, if necessary, the bevel to be restored. Moreover, re-sharpening enables the blade to be regenerated more sustainably, reducing waste, downtime, and supply costs.
